September 2015

The beautiful is as useful as the useful. More so perhaps...

Ernest Vincent Wood IV?

He's here!

Who has time for sleep? Let alone painting?

Yes, sleep has been scant, weariness plentiful, and painting? Who does that anymore? All that aside, he's really great. If you want to hear of all his adventures and the tale of his 38 hour labor please visit me in the booth next time I come around to your town!

I hope he likes to watch me paint. It's my intention, (ignorant new father speaking) to have him strapped into my ergobaby 360 and paint away. (All safety measures in place) Perhaps I'll have an update on that next month...

Commission Work and Remaining Shows

I have two remaining shows this year before I begin my commission work window for 2015. If we've spoken about a possible commission please respond to this email so we can move forward as I only have so many spots available. At the time of this writing I only have 4 spots left!

The first art show is Sept. 18-20, this weekend, in my beloved city of Wichita. Autumn and Art at Bradley Fair is the crown of Kansas festivals and I was selected to be their featured artist this year! Here's a photo from the awards reception. They selected "Last Defense of Truth" for their 2015 poster. It was a beautiful evening and if you look closely you can see my hospital bracelet as Ernest IV being but 2 days old was still at the birth care center.

The last show of the year is the first weekend of October! I'll be showing in Louisville, KY. St. James Court is a beautiful area in Louisville with some amazing Victorian homes. I enjoy this show so much. It's the perfect place to showcase my paintings. The fine architecture and aesthetics (Did I mention gas lanterns?) accentuate my desire to paint the dignity and beauty of all things.
Until next time, thanks for reading,

This is a portrait of Deirdre, listen to the woe of all of Ireland here!
Our hands communicate to others almost as much as our faces and body language. This piece is called "Bauble." See my other new paintings by visiting my website below.
