The beautiful is as useful as the useful. More so perhaps...

Hi friends.
Welcome to the new and improved May 2016 edition. It's new and improved because it's the May edition released BEFORE May rather than the END OF May. As always, thanks for reading.

I'm departing for Kansas City tomorrow!!! I'll be taking part in Brookside Art Annual. I should probably be getting ready actually....
Kansas City, MO. Brookside Art Annual
April 29 - May 1

And then....

I'm immediately following that show with the Art and Book Fair.
Wichita, KS. The Art and Book Fair
May 7-8

If you are in the area, I'd love to see you! And I'm not just saying that. Please visit.

I made paintings!

Even though it was a quick turnaround, I was able to complete a few new works before tending to the 50 other things an artist must see to before and after hitting the road. Check 'em out at If your finger is tired here's a new one below.

The 3rd man in Houston

Ernest IV was a champ at the Woodlands Waterway Art Festival. Here he is setting up and by setting up I mean playing with an empty plastic water bottle. (His newest favorite toy, I highly recommend you NOT try to take it away from him.) The Winter has past it's time for some tank top action. He wears it well.

It wasn't all crackling and crunching a water bottle. Ernest IV put in work. We strategically placed him in the center of the booth to greet passersby and it worked well. He received many complements and greetings. I'd never seen this side of him before. He was really hamming it up. See below...

Here's the man at work:

He even worked for other artists too. What a guy. All in all it went well. Here's to the next adventure.

The show was a success

Many thanks to all the individuals who purchased work. I and my family are grateful and honored. I don't want to get too mushy but it's very affirming for others to find joy and beauty in what I create. I think all artists would agree. It's a bit of your person, identity, soul, or what have you that is on display. It's being vulnerable!

How do they hang?

Nicely. I love it when collectors of my paintings show me where they decided to place my work. Please share, it's exciting!

"Frank's Meal" made a long trip to the East coast and I must say it looks smashing in its new home. I'm so grateful to Charlotte for sharing this with me! I couldn't have picked a better spot!

God bless, Farewell friends,
Ernest Vincent Wood III

"Cut Above" is going to be featured in Fine Art Connoisseur! It will appear in the May/June 'Food & Dining' photo essay.
Kicking off a new series of shadow puppet pieces. "Turtle" was the first. Do you have a request for a particular animal? Reply back!
